da betsson: Tottenham could be set for a shock bid for Everton midfielder Leon Osman in the summer.
da bet7: Osman has stopped talks with his club over a contract extension, which has caught the attention of Spurs, according to the Metro.
The England midfielder has two years left on his current contract, but has turned down any extension offers from the Toffees. Osman could be looking for a move to a Champions League club.
The midfielder picked up his first two national caps this season, and has impressed in Everton’s Premier League campaign, helping the club to 6th place in the league. The Toffees are only 6 points adrift of 3rd, and could be looking to cause an upset and reach the top 4 by the end of the season.
But Andre Villas-Boas looks set to improve his midfield for next season, with Osman joining Joao Moutinho at the top of the Portuguese manager’s shortlist. The club are expected to offer £6million for the Englishman.
Spurs may also offer some of their fringe players to Everton in a player plus cash deal. Danny Rose, David Bentley, Iago Falque and Heurelho Gomes have all been told they will be leaving the club in the summer, and one of them may be used as a sweetener in a bid to sign Leon Osman.
For now Osman will remain focused on pushing Everton as high up the table as they can go. A win on Saturday against QPR could see the club rise to just one point behind Arsenal in 5th.
