Russell Martin has revealed that Hamza Igamane is on the brink of leaving the club following his refusal to play as a substitute on Sunday.
“We expect that to come to a close very soon. He had a scan yesterday and got assessed. I’ve always said to the players to be honest with yourself. It’s happened so we have to deal with it. It looks like he’s got what he wanted. He wanted to play somewhere else and we’ve got the sum of money we wanted. Ideally it wouldn’t have happened but it has and we move on. It’s really difficult for a young man who doesn’t speak the language.”

Significantly, the ‘Gers Manager dismissed the idea that the player had been genuinely injured in Paisley on Sunday with a brief but pointed comment.
“I expect he’s passed his medical.”
Martin was anxious to turn his attention to the immediate task in hand – the Second Leg of the Play-Off with Club Brugge.
“We’re looking forward to a very big game tomorrow. I’m excited about it. We’ll come here and attack. Our energy and mentality has to be right. Brugge are a good team – but the tie is very much alive.”
He certainly believes that better times lie ahead.
“At the moment we’ve had an inconsistency in selection – but things will settle down soon. One big win would settle us down. I’m excited about what the group can achieve.”
He recognised how unhappy many fans are.
“You can’t be influenced or swayed by it. There’s going to be frustration if you haven’t won. Everyone in the building understands that we want to win some this season. We’re three games into the League campaign and it’s frustrating that there’s been three draws. We’ll just keep working and give everything we’ve got.”
