da esport bet: The big one is nearly here and come Monday night, the whole of the footballing world will stand still as Liverpool and Manchester United take to the field at Anfield.
da bet nacional: In the first of their two clashes of the season, they come into the game in mixed form, with Liverpool far the better side based on what we’ve seen already this campaign.
Jurgen Klopp guided his side into fourth before this weekend’s round of fixtures, only two points away from the Premier League’s summit whilst Jose Mourinho’s United linger in sixth.
But despite the differences in form and past results, this game will inevitably be decided on the day and making predictions is always a tough job.
But what do you need to know ahead of the crunch tie? Can Klopp’s new-look Liverpool side get the points or will Zlatan and company come out fighting?
Here’s FIVE stats you need to know ahead of Liverpool vs United at Anfield on Monday night…
Liverpool are tough to beat at home
Manchester United have beaten their rivals twelve times at Anfield in the Premier League, the most recent being a 1-0 triumph last January.
But it’s important to point out how tricky Liverpool are to defeat on their own turf. Unlike some of the other “big” sides in the division, Liverpool’s home record is generally good. They’ve been beaten just six times each by Arsenal and Chelsea at Anfield.
Liverpool are scoring against their main rivals
Another Liverpool stat here. In the games they’ve played against Leicester City, Chelsea and Arsenal this season, Liverpool have dispatched ten times – seriously impressive stuff.
Much has been made about their defence this campaign but if they’re scoring, there is little to worry about at the other end.
And the fact they’re hitting the back of the net with such ease against their main rivals is really promising for Monday’s game.
United might need to up the work-rate
According to Opta, Manchester United are lagging slightly behind their main rivals when it comes to work-rate on the pitch.
Liverpool have run a total of 814km collectively so far this season, compared to Manchester United’s 735km.
Read into that what you will but the fact the Reds are prepared to run further might be an advantage on Monday evening. There are some really industrious players on both sides though and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
It’s a game which always sees goals
If you want a game where you’re pretty much guaranteed to see some goals, then watch this one.
It’s been eleven years since we saw a complete shut-out between these two, which came in a game at Anfield in 2005.
With the likes of Ibrahimovic, Rashford, Firmino and Coutinho on the pitch, surely we’re going to see a goal or two on Monday night?
It’s not as dirty a fixture as you might think
Everyone’s favourite United bruiser Nemanja Vidic has been famously dismissed four times in this fixture. But surprisingly, there has been only 16 dismissals in this game since the start of the Premier League era.
We’ve seen Jonjo Shelvey and Steven Gerrard sent off in recent years but as a matter of fact, this isn’t quite as dirty as a game as you might expect.
