da aposte e ganhe: Gerard Houllier has admitted he is concerned about Aston Villa's form in the wake of Monday's 3-0 defeat at Liverpool.
da mrbet: The Villa boss watched as David N'Gog and Ryan Babel fired his former club into an early two-goal lead at Anfield, before Maxi Rodriguez wrapped up the points for Roy Hodgson's men 10 minutes into the second half.
It was the fourth straight defeat for Villa and leaves them down in 16th position, just two points clear off the relegation places.
"We're concerned," admitted Houllier. "The players and the staff have to take things in our hands."
Houllier felt his side played well in patches against Liverpool but were doomed after conceding two goals inside the opening 20 minutes.
"We conceded a goal and then we conceded another goal, which to me was offside, the second goal," he said.
"[But] I cannot fault the players for the effort, they tried hard. When you concede a goal after 13 minutes at Anfield it's hard to come back. It's a shame because we could have done something here."
Villa will be hoping to get their season on track when they face local rivals West Brom on Saturday.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
