The report also states that spirits were high in the United camp following a positive pre-season tour of the United States. However the squad are reportedly concerned by how quickly the energy has sagged since then, with United having lost to Arsenal on the opening weekend of the 2025-26 campaign before drawing 1-1 with Fulham on August 24. United secured their only victory of the season so far in the 3-2 win over Burnley on August 30.

United’s minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe held talks with manager Amorim on Thursday amid the club’s struggles on the pitch. However the Portuguese played down the severity of the meeting, joking that he was offered a new contract during the discussions.
