da winzada777: As the January Transfer window approaches it has become clear that there is still some work to be done in terms of Neil Lennon rebuilding the Celtic team and squad. The first half of the season has shown areas that need strengthening and with bargains to be had in January I’m certain we will be seeing some new faces donning those famous green and white hoops.
da dobrowin: I personally think Celtic are in need of a new goalkeeper. The inexperienced Fraser Forster isn’t the answer for me, and with Chris Kirkland currently on loan at Leicester and seemingly out of the plans of Wigan manager Roberto Martinez, could he be the solution?
Celtic have defensive worries at the moment and the centre backs are the main cause of this. Come January I’d like to see the Celtic board dip into their pockets and bring in someone who could compliment the big experience Swede who currently slots into the fold. With Richard Dunne falling out of Villa Boss Gerard Houllier’s plans would he be the ideal man?
With Scott Brown missing, I think Celtic have missed his combative qualities. Furthermore, with interest south of the border surrounding the Scotland international are Celtic in need of a player that could sit in front of the back four and break up play? Liverpool have a young lad who is highly regarded waiting for his chance to make the step up. Would Celtic not be the ideal place to progress his career?
Celtic have only scored four goals in their last 3 games and have looked as if they are struggling in front of goal. With the likes of Samaras and Daryl Murphy regularly featuring I think Celtic need to bring in another Striker. If Celtic could share the wages I’d like to see Michael Owen at Park head. Since Owen has lost a yard of pace he has had to change his game and so has become a more clever player. With young boys Hooper and Stokes buzzing about the park could Owen add some much needed impetus?
Finally, I believe Lennon has to become more tactically astute from January onwards. Too many times this season, the team have failed to bag the full three points due to wrong decisions being made from the sideline. I am a huge fan of the Northern Irishman and hope he enjoys a long and prosperous period with the club, but is his inexperience is showing slightly?
