da mrbet: QPR boss Neil Warnock is considering a bid for Joe Cole in the wake of the clubs takeover Sky Sports understands.
da prosport bet: Warnock has admitted there is money to spend after Tony Fernandes’ bought the club and has set his sights on Cole.
Although his wage demands have so far scuppered any chances of a move away from Liverpool the QPR boss confessed he can now afford to subsidise the 29-year-old if he were to join on loan.
“We will not just spend money for the sake of it. We have to get quality players in to the club.” Warnock told Sky Sports.
“Joe Cole? We can probably afford 30 or 40 per cent of his wages now. The chairman knows all my targets and we are discussing them.
“This man coming in, Tony Fernandes, is a dream come true. You do not often get the opportunity to look at players I have only dreamed about. I am in Utopia.”
The midfielder has suffered a torrid time at Anfield since joining last summer from Chelsea and isn’t in Kenny Dalglish’s plans.
A loss of form and fitness has contributed to his downfall but that hasn’t deterred Warnock who sees his experience as a vital component in his quest to avoid an instant return to the Championship.
