da aviator aposta: [ad_pod ]Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe picked up the Championship Player of the Month award for August following a stunning start to the season for both himself and the club, but the recognition and all eyes being on him could prove to be bad news in the long run.
What’s the word, then?
Well, despite the big-money addition of Patrick Bamford over the summer, it has been the 25-year-old that has got the nod in the centre-forward position in Marcelo Bielsa’s preferred attacking set-up in the opening weeks of the campaign, and he hasn’t let the Argentine down.
The former Oxford United man has scored four goals and provided a further two assists in six league appearances for the Yorkshire outfit so far this term, establishing himself as an early key man in the Whites’ promotion bid.
Roofe has set the tone for his teammates from the top end of the pitch, and his pace and finishing ability surely won’t have gone unnoticed by some Premier League clubs.
What could happen in January?
It is well known that if a top-flight side are struggling – whether it be in terms of points or lack of goals scored – they will look to remedy the problem when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year, and they may not be afraid to throw some big sums of money around to get the players that they want.
Even at this early stage of the season, teams such as West Ham United, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are among those that are not making the required impact in front of goal, and if that continues they will surely be taking a closer look at players like Roofe – especially if he maintains his fine form.

While Roofe may well be enjoying playing under Bielsa and may feel he can achieve a dream of playing in the Premier League with Leeds, they have shown in the past with Lewis Cook and Chris Wood that they will sell if the price is right.
