The former Switzerland U21 international came through the youth ranks at Zurich and then Manchester United, where he spent time away from Old Trafford on loan with Bolton before signing for Celtic on a permanent deal. After that he went on to play for French side Saint-Etienne and Portuguese giants Porto before making the temporary switch to the City Ground.
