da betcris: Danny Higginbotham has told Sky Sports News (January 30, 11:20am) that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s delivery is up there with the best he has ever seen.
What’s the story?
da brwin: The former Stoke City defender appeared on the channel on Thursday, and he was asked to analyse Liverpool’s efficiency in the air – only Newcastle 12 have scored more than the Anfield outfit (11) from set-pieces.

During his analysis, the 41-year-old said: “His delivery is up there with the best I’ve ever seen.”
Hard to argue
In just a couple of years, the England international has already proven himself to be arguably the best right-back in the world – that’s what the latest Ballon d’Or rankings indicated, anyway. His assist tally (16) last season was the most of any Liverpool player, and he has even been compared to Kevin de Bruyne in terms of creativity despite him being a defender.
This season, he has already created 10 Premier League goals, which is more than anyone else other than De Bruyne (15), and his 2.7 key passes per match is the third-most in the division. Again, only De Bruyne (2.6) has made more crosses per game than his 2.5. The fact that he is not an offensive player in terms of his positions make what he is able to do even more impressive.

On current form, it is hard to argue with Higginbotham, even despite him being just 21 years of age. He has helped revolutionise the full-back role, and his ability to put in fantastic corners and free-kicks is a huge asset to Liverpool. They may be able to pass the ball around their opponents – only Manchester City (61%) have averaged more than their 58.2% possession so far this campaign – but with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum to aim for in the box, good delivery his key. This vital skill of Alexander-Arnold’s is just another reason why the Reds have been so dominant this term as they have raced to a 19-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
