da esport bet: Leeds United went a second successive game without their new loan signing Jean-Kevin Augustin in the matchday squad, and it has left The Atletic’s Phil Hay rather baffled.
What’s he said?
da cassino: The Whites went all month searching for a man to replace the recalled Eddie Nketiah, and they finally found him in the RB Leipzig striker, but the 22-year-old hasn’t been part of the squad since joining Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side lost to Wigan Athletic 1-0 as they relinquished top spot to title rivals West Brom once again.
Speaking in his post-match Q&A, Hay spoke about the ‘strange’ decision over Augustin in two separate responses, he said:
Only a matter of time
Leeds continue to be the third-worst team in the division for converting their chances, managing to net just 17.5% of their shots on goal, and the brunt of the blame must lie with current first-choice Patrick Bamford as he has played 29 league games, scoring 12 times in the process.
Therefore, it does seem an odd choice to completely exclude the Frenchman from the squad entirely, as even a short cameo here and there, would surely help his chances of fitting in – if he manages to score whilst on the pitch, then imagine the confidence booster he’d get too.
You’d imagine that it is merely a matter of time before Augustin is fully integrated, especially after Saturday’s game where they failed to score despite recording 18 shots.
A true test for any Leeds fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
Bielsa is going to have to get him up to speed as quickly as possible as next weekend’s game against Nottingham Forest is no easy feat, if they lost that one, then the Midlands outfit will only be one point behind.
At one stage, Leeds and West Brom looked to be running away with it.
