da lvbet: Patrick Bamford was well and truly outshone by Tyler Roberts on Saturday.
da dobrowin: It was another barren game for Bamford on the goal front as he failed to find the back of the net against Hull City, before eventually being hooked in favour of the 21-year-old.
The Wales international came on and showed Bamford exactly how it’s done.
He netted a brace against the Tigers, staking a claim for a starting spot in Marcelo Bielsa’s XI.
However, Roberts’ superiority over Bamford wasn’t only on show this weekend.

Indeed, the youngster’s stats from the whole season suggest that he’s simply a better option than the misfiring former Boro forward.
One thing that Bamford can certainly be criticised for this term is his chance conversion.
Leeds are severely underperforming on xG this season, and the 26-year-old is certainly a huge reason for that as he was way below his personal expected goals tally when a Leeds fan account crunched the numbers on Twitter back at the start of February.
On the other hand, Roberts seems to be the natural finisher United have been looking for.
For a start, his goals per 90 record this term is better than Bamford’s, but a deeper look into the stats shows that he’s generally been the superior player.
The 21-year-old has the best goals per shot record of any United player, with over 20% of his efforts finding the back of the net.
The Welshman’s shot on target percentage is also the best of any current United attacker as 57.1% of his attempted have given the opposition goalkeeper something to think about, compared to just 38.1% of his Bamford’s efforts.
The former West Brom man’s shots are also seemingly of a higher quality as well, as a higher proportion of his shots on target result in goals.
The stats tell a damning story, and perhaps it’s time for Bamford to take a long look in the mirror in order to address these issues that have been plaguing him all term.
Roberts has come in and shown him exactly how his own job should be done, and this should be a huge wake-up call for the Chelsea academy graduate. If Bamford’s going to be Leeds’ front-man not only in the Championship but also in the Premier League, he needs to up his game.
In other news, Leeds’ striker conundrum will become even more complicated after promotion.
